SQL Server (ENG)

SQL Server (ENG)

Backup, data recovery, just like Database Doctor, is performed directly on the SQL server side in the PREMIER Enterprise version. Similarly, functions such as database file maintenance, indexing, backup of transaction logs, and so on, are also carried out on the SQL server side.

If not stated otherwise in the contract for the use of the PREMIER program, the IT manager in the given organization is responsible for the SQL server.

When transitioning to the Enterprise version, our IT specialists will only perform basic setup for backup and maintenance of SQL databases.

Minimum configuration for SQL server (up to 20 users, individual due to different content, respectively data volume):

  • Processor: 2.2 GHz XEON (for large data volumes, 2x CPU is recommended)

  • RAM: 16 GB and more (for large data volumes, higher RAM is a significant advantage)

  • Hard disk: 500 GB and more in RAID 1 or 5 (SAS disks)

  • Operating system: Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019. Support for x86 and x64 architecture.

  • Database server: 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 (x64, Standard, Enterprise).

  • Database server for PREMIER API: Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 (x64, Standard, Enterprise).

If there are still stations on the network that have Windows XP, it is not possible to use SQL version 2012 and above, as there is no ODBC driver available for Windows XP for these versions.

It is not possible to install IS PREMIER and SQL server on a domain controller or on a server where MS SharePoint or MS Exchange is already running.

Tips on how to keep data and SQL server in good condition can be found in the chapters "Backing up SQL data" or "Maintaining SQL data".
