1. 7 Displaying Czech characters

Fixing the display of Czech characters on computers and laptops from certain manufacturers with the Windows operating system

Incorrect display of Czech characters directly in the IS PREMIER dialog boxes is caused by an incorrect character set from certain computer manufacturers. Computer/laptop manufacturers have a default Windows image from Microsoft, which they then modify, usually adding their own applications or trial versions of other programs, which in some cases causes changes and incorrect display of Czech characters in some third-party applications.

It is necessary to reset the character display settings. This can be done by temporarily setting the region in the Control Panel to something other than Czech. The system will then temporarily switch to English (the base system will remain in the default language) and after restarting the PC, which is necessary, everything will return to Czech and the PC will be restarted again. Below is described where this setting can be changed.

Let's go to the Control Panels – Area

On the "Formats" tab, we set English and click the "Apply" button. On the "Location" tab, we set the United States and click the "Apply" button. On the "Management" tab at the bottom, we also set English as the current language.

Windows 11 (24H2)

Do Not Use BETA

If the option "BETA: Use Unicode UTF-8" is automatically selected in the image below, uncheck it. If this option is active, it needs to be disabled.

After the Windows prompt, we restart the computer. After the restart, we set Czech everywhere in Windows again.
