1. 3 Installation (Server or network installation)
Installation on the server is always performed on the local disk of the server. We recommend a data disk that does not contain the operating system, but this is not a requirement. The minimum disk space requirement is 10 GB, depending on the number of users and annual data growth. If there is more than one disk on the server, IS PREMIER is installed on the second, non-system disk (D:\Premier). Installation is never performed on external devices such as USB drives (Flash Drives).
Under no circumstances should PREMIER be installed in folders that have names with Czech characters, such as D:\Účetnictví\. Similarly, the name of the server on which IS PREMIER will operate must not contain Czech characters. We also do not recommend using IS PREMIER that is shared from Linux servers.
Before installation, it is necessary to consider how users will launch PREMIER on the network. The most suitable option is to have the network drive automatically connect for users, e.g., P:\, where the PREMIER folder will be located. Therefore, it is advisable to perform the initial installation in a parent directory so that the local path on the server is, for example, D:\Ekonom\Premier. If everything is installed in such created directories, sharing and security of the specified folder can be set. The parent folder is always shared, in our case D:\Ekonom. Sharing permissions are set for the group Everyone for read and write. Furthermore, the correct permissions are set on the security tab. Here it depends on which users from the network will use the program. If everyone, the group Everyone for read and write is also set, or possibly another group or specific users. Users must have full access to the entire directory \premier\
The assigned registration code linked to the given IČ can only be used for one installation!!!
On servers with the Windows Server 2008 operating system and higher, it is also advisable to add the "Application Server" role, which also includes the installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.0, which are essential for the operation of IS PREMIER and SQL server. It is also not advisable and we do not recommend installing on a domain controller or on a server where MS SharePoint or MS Exchange is already running.
Disabling DEP - preventing data execution
It is also advisable to properly set the "Data Execution Prevention" function in the OS to the option "Only for programs and services", as shown in the image below.
Additional network settings
The program update - company version number 1215 allows in the Windows Server 2012 environment and newer, on PCs with Windows 10 (build 1803 and newer) to activate the SMB 3 protocol. IT administrators should activate the SMB3 protocol on your Windows Server 2012 and higher. This can be activated by running the visual libraries installer by executing the file "Setup_ocx.exe" from the directory \premier\. The installation EXE file must have a release date of November 15, 2018, or newer.
Alternatively, a check can be performed in the registry, where we remove the entire value of SMB1, SMB2, which may be in the keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanServer\Parameters or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters.
If these SMB values are not there, the highest version of SMB is activated on the server, which is fine. If the SMB values in the registry are removed or the installer "Setup_ocx.exe" is run, changes will only take effect after restarting the server.

"SMB1"=-For this setting on servers, it is necessary to activate the preference in the global preferences in the program. In the module "Manager - global preferences - Network/Print/Export options - Other tab" - here activate the SMB 3 option.
This setting in global preferences must be done in each accounting unit.
It is also advisable to set an exception in the antivirus program (both on the server and on the PC), which may block communication between the program and databases on the server.
Settings on the client PC
It is necessary to ensure that users have the network drive automatically connect upon login, e.g., "P:\", in which the Premier folder will be available. A shortcut from "P:\Premier\premier.exe", which can be placed on the desktop of the client PC, will ensure the program starts. It is not advisable to use and run the program from UNC paths on client stations, e.g., \\server\ekonom\premier\premier.exe. Similarly, it is not advisable to map the server folder Premier directly, because the user will run, for example, P:\premier.exe. It is essential for proper operation to map the parent folder, in our case \Ekonom\
If all users who will use PREMIER are part of a common domain, then the work of the IT administrator is much simpler. It will be enough to set permissions for the given group and allow read and write. If the domain is not used on the network, it is advisable to create the same login user accounts on the server as those on all user computers that will run PREMIER. In such a case, the user must have both a username and a password. Accounts without passwords are not supported.
If IS PREMIER is launched within the internal network, this dialog will likely appear immediately after starting the program.
We also do not recommend using IS PREMIER that is shared from Linux servers.
Remote connection
Companies that have multiple branches or whose employees work from home and want to have company data stored in one place can connect to this data via Remote Desktop. For example: the PREMIER program is installed on a server in Prague, and the branch in Brno connects to the central data via the internet and remote desktop. Only a compressed image, keyboard and mouse strokes, and possibly a compressed print job are transmitted between the server and the remote client. All calculations and data processing then take place on the server. For how to set up a server that serves as a "Terminal Server," consult your IT administrators.

It is also possible to use our additional service "PREMIER Outsourcing." The main advantage of this service is that it is not necessary to purchase your own server, which in many cases is very costly, requires regular maintenance, and other components. Reinstallation of the system to a new version
The procedure for reinstallation, for example when installing a new development version of the program or when reinstalling the original version due to program disruption, is exactly the same as during installation. If updates cannot be performed using the procedure below, for instance, if internet access is blocked or unavailable, the update can be performed by reinstalling the entire IS PREMIER. Reinstallation is done from a CD, which is sent upon request by mail. The current CD can be ordered through a web form on our website or by phone order. Reinstalling the entire IS PREMIER will not overwrite or delete your data. Only the files necessary for the operation of the program itself will be overwritten; your data will remain intact. The reinstallation must be installed in the same directory where the existing version of IS PREMIER is located. Before starting the installation, it is necessary to close the PREMIER program. This entire action should be carried out when PREMIER is not running anywhere on the network. As mentioned above, the CD can be ordered. If internet access is available, the entire SETUP (the complete installation) can be downloaded from our website at any time. In the Downloads section - Current version for registered users. In the case of network operation, it is essential that all users are logged out of the PREMIER system during installation (reinstallation, update).
After launching the relevant accounting unit, the program will automatically convert the databases to the new version of the program.
Before each conversion to the new version, the program will ask if you want to perform an automatic data backup before indexing. We strongly recommend carrying out this action.
